RHS HAMPTON COURT 2016

I am thrilled that the Witan Global Growth Garden at Hampton Court Palace Garden Show received a Silver Gilt Award.

Inspired by the new, exciting Witan Investment Trust PLC Global Growth Garden project at RHS Garden Hyde Hall, opening in spring 2017 (with which I was also involved), this garden demonstrated the fabulous selection of edible plants from all over the world that can be grown in the UK. Some are familiar plants, but with an unfamiliar edible element such as dahlias and hostas, and others will be little-known varieties. The feedback from visitors was fantastic

The design is formed around a double helical path with a grass mound landform along which the visitor will travel whilst experiencing the colours, scents and textures of a delightful and productive.

At the centre of the garden was a beautiful sculpture formed from leaves

(created by the Suffolk sculptor Paul Richardson at www.Steelsculptures.co.uk) .

I had a magnificent build team in Ed Burnham (Burnham Landscaping Ltd) and Jake Catling (The Landscape Consultants).

My thanks extends to everyone who was involved (including the team from RHS Hyde Hall) and without whom this exciting project would not have come to fruition.
